It's called "1977"

Pasadena-based Artworks Gallery and Design Within Reach have teamed up for upcoming exhibition featuring works from iconic photographer Michael Brennan and Muhammad Ali.

Dubbed "1977", the exhibit will feature the monumental limited edition photograph of Ali. It is a rare close-up that captures the fighter's vitality and determination, and taken by Brennan during Ali's training for his come from behind victory over Earnie Shavers at Madison Square Garden in ... well, 1977.

A very limited edition run of this print will be available for sale, and signed by both Brennan and the legend himself, Ali at Artworks Gallery.

Six further editions of Muhammad Ali images will be on display and available for sale; many of these are also signed by Ali.

"1977" will open with a reception on Thursday (November 10) from 6-9pm at Design Within Reach, and will run through November 17th. The exhibition will then move to the Artworks Gallery in Pasadena, where it will be on display through January 17th, 2012, Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday.

This winter Brennan's "1977" portrait of Muhammad Ali will be inducted into the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian.
