The Comings and Goings of New Concepts

General Motors envisions the Chevrolet Volt as a competitively priced, high-volume model.
General Motors' Hy-Wire concept car, a hydrogen-fueled, electricty-producing car that the company demonstrated in February. It has a high grille and no hood because it has no conventional engine up front.
Toyota’s FT-HS “parallel hybrid” concept uses a V-6 gasoline engine and a battery-powered electric motor.
Ford’s Airstream uses a hydrogen fuel cell to power its electric motor. It awaits a hydrogen fuel distribution system.
